Aquaculture protein skimmer is the “kidney” of mariculture system and is an essential filtration equipment. It can separate 80% of the harmful substances, ammonia nitrogen, harmful salts, suspended matter in the water, and can greatly improve the water quality.

Process flow

When the water to be treated enters the reaction chamber, it inhales a large amount of air under the action of the PEI potential energy intake device, during which the water-air mixture is cut several times to produce a large number of fine bubbles.

In the mixed system of water, air and particles, there is interfacial tension on the phase surface of different media due to the unbalanced force. When microbubbles contact with suspended solid particles, surface adsorption will occur due to the effect of surface tension.

When the microbubbles move upward, the suspended particles and colloides in the water (mainly is organic matter such as erbium residues and excrement of cultured organisms) are attached to the surface of the microbubbles, resulting in a state with a density less than that of water. The protein skimmer uses the principle of buoyancy to make them move upward with the bubbles and accumulate in the upper water surface. The accumulated dirt bubbles are continuously pushed into the foam collection pipe at the top and then discharged.
